Greetings Warriors! For this week’s Pain Warrior Pep Talk, I felt inspired to encourage you all to find solutions around your limitations.
For the last few months, I have felt rather frustrated, deflated and hindered by numerous things (my health being a main factor). I have struggled to feel motivated, inspired or even hopeful about anything. Fortunately through prayer, meditation & mindfulness, I was reminded of my resilience and resourcefulness. So if you have felt the same way recently and need a pep talk to help you push past those feelings – this one is for you!

Internal Tug-Of-War
Is it just me, or is it extremely exhausting to be a chronic pain warrior? Physically, emotionally and mentally. The tug-of-war that takes place within our minds, is one of a an entirely different calibre. Sometimes we run over land mines that we weren’t prepared for: creating moments when we feel thwarted or hindered, due to the limitations that our illnesses sometimes place upon us.
"These type of moments can trigger off a range of other emotions that are strong enough to cloud our thought process.", Find Solutions Around Your Limitations by Tasha Marie Click To TweetThese moments can trigger off a range of other emotions that are strong enough to cloud our thought processes. All of this can work in tandem – resulting in varied heavy feelings of resentment, bitterness and discouragement. Such feelings can weigh down on us to the point where we struggle to come up with a solution that will help us to navigate our way around the limitations that we face. Ultimately, that can lead further down the path to feeling like a failure, or like giving up on everything altogether. If you have found yourself feeling the former, give Chronic Illness Warriors Are Not Failures! for additional encouragement.
But do not allow yourselves to be burdened by this Warrior, there is always a way around the limitations that we face. It just takes a bit of time and creativity to come up with it – but take heart in knowing that you can figure out a way.

Here are some practical tips to help guide you when your mind is overwhelmed and struggling to find your solution:
- Take a moment to do an exercise that will clear your mind: This will be useful because it’s harder to find solutions when your mind is cluttered with everything. Useful activities would be to meditate, mind dump, have a session of prayer, painting, any activity that allows your mind to drift away to a more peaceful place.
- Seek advice from people who you trust the most. Especially that friend or family member of yours who is known for being a practical problem solver. They’re usually great at finding solutions that you wouldn’t have considered before.
- Attempt to brainstorm ideas as to a way that you can work around the limitation that you are facing. Physically being able to see potential solutions written down, can be the boost that an individual needs to feel relief about their situation.
- Allow yourself time to have the answers come to you instead. Sometimes we search for something – but overlook the answer that is waiting right there in front of us.
These are things that I have to keep reminding myself to do frequently.
To Sum Things Up
Honestly, I get tired of trying to figure things out. I get tired of my health being a problem or lack of certain things being a hinderance. I’ve experienced moments of defeatist thoughts and I have to remind myself that this is a weak spot – so I encourage myself to find solutions around my limitations.
If this applies to you, I encourage you to do the same. We all have limitations, but they don’t have to be blockages within our lives. You will get to that thing, place or dream. The route won’t be straight forward, but there is a way to it. In many cases, the way doesn’t become apparent until we allow ourselves to endeavour on the journey.
Furthermore, you are made of strong stuff Warriors. The fact that you are still here is a testament to the fact that you are an overcomer. You have bounced back from the previous hinderances you faced. You’ve manoeuvred your way around limitations before. You’re not new to this at all. You are seasoned, and so you will make it!
